Director-General of the National Agency for Food Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC), Dr. Paul Orhii, has called on Nigerian youths to join the agency in its fight against drug counterfeiters in the country.
A statement issued by NAFDAC’s Director of Special Duties, Abubakar Jimoh said the DG made the call at the Akwa Ibom state NYSC orientation camp, and also called on the youth to support his agency’s efforts to eradicate fake drugs and unwholesome food substances.
According to the statement, the NAFDAC boss was represented by the agency’s director of special duties.
Orhii used the occasion to intimate the corps members about the NAFDAC and NYSC-CDS group, which he said has been a highly successful collaboration in sensitizing the public on the dangers of consuming unwholesome regulated products.
According to him, NAFDAC has recorded remarkable breakthroughs in arresting the incidence of counterfeiting and called on them to support the fight so that Nigeria does not only achieve reduction in the incidence but also succeeds in eradicating the menace completely.
