The race for 2027 gained fresh momentum in Yobe State as the All Progressives Congress (APC) Youth Wing in Nangere Local Government Area formally endorsed the former Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Alhaji Baba Malam Wali, to succeed the current administration.
During a critical stakeholders’ engagement held on Sunday in Sabon Garin Nangere, the youth wing, led by Chairman Umar Mohammed Kukuri, declared that Wali is the most “seasoned administrator” capable of sustaining the developmental strides of Governor Mai Mala Buni.
Kukuri noted that the endorsement of the former SSG by various stakeholders across the state is a testament to his technical expertise and leadership record.
He said:“We believe Alhaji Baba Malam Wali possesses the experience and leadership qualities required to move Yobe State forward.”
He has the capacity to build on the achievements of the current administration as we approach the 2027 general elections,” Kukuri stated.
The youth leader also used the forum to laud Governor Mai Mala Buni for creating a “visionary” blueprint for Yobe’s development.
He credited the Buni administration with transforming infrastructure, healthcare, and education—achievements he argued must be protected by a competent successor.
Kukuri described the Sabon Garin Nangere forum as a vital platform for fostering dialogue and ensuring that the youth remain at the center of the state’s political transition.
The engagement served as a rallying cry for Nangere youths to shun division and participate actively in governance.
Kukuri urged his peers to support government initiatives and remain united to ensure the APC retains its stronghold in the state.
He further called on traditional rulers to continue their role as pillars of peace, acknowledging their influence in mobilizing the youth toward positive and constructive civic engagement.
