The contest for the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship ticket in Nasarawa State is taking clearer shape, with former Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Abubakar Adamu, making a strategic move by presenting his nomination form to ex-governor, Tanko Al-Makura.
The presentation, which took place at Al-Makura’s office in Abuja, is widely seen as a signal of political alignment with the former governor’s camp ahead of the party’s primaries.
Adamu is seeking to clinch the APC governorship ticket through a direct primary, where he is expected to face Senator Aliyu Wadada, who is believed to enjoy the backing of the incumbent governor, Abdullahi Sule.
The development underscores the emerging power blocs within the Nasarawa APC, with stakeholders rallying behind different aspirants as the race intensifies toward the 2027 election.
