From Gambo Ahmed, Lafia

The Nasarawa State House of Assembly yesterday screened the state Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Mr Dogo Shammah, a commissioner nominee from Wamba Local Government Area and 8 others as commissioners and members of the state Executive Council.
The Speaker of the House, Rt. Hon. Ibrahim Balarabe Abdullahi presided over the screening at the floor of the State Assembly along Shendam Road Lafia, the State Capital.
According to the Speaker, after Dogo Shammah, the 8 other persons screened are Ahmed Baba Yahaya (Toto LGA) Philip Dada (Karu LGA), Othman Bala Adam (Keffi LGA), Dr Abdulkarim Abubakar Kana (Kokona LGA), Obadiah Boyi (Akwanga LGA) Yusuf Aliyu Turaki (Awe LGA), Dr Salihu Ahmad Alizaga (Nassarawa Eggon LGA) and Prof. Otaki Allahnanah (Keana LGA).”
The Speaker noted that the remaining 6 commissioner nominees would be attended to on October 22.
The Speaker urged Shammah to tackle the issue of fake news if finally sworn in and posted to the Ministry of Information by the governor.
It would be recalled that on October 16, Gov Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State submitted 15 commissioner nominees to the state House of Assembly for screening and confirmation as members of the state executive council.
Those to be screened on October 22nd are Haruna Ogbole Adamu (Obi LGA), Ibrahim Musa Ekye (Doma LGA), Mrs Fati Jimeta Sabo (Nasarawa LGA), Abubakar Muhammed Imam (Lafia LGA), Hajiya Halima Ahmadu Jabiru(Lafia LGA) and Mohammed Bashir Aliyu(Lafia LGA).
