Ahead of the scheduled governorship election in Nasarawa State, Governor Umaru Tanko Al-makura has said that the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has already conceded defeat to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

Al-makura stated this in a chat with journalists during a rally organized by his campaign team in Keffi at the weekend.

The governor said it has become obvious that the PDP has already conceded defeat to the APC in the state and the western zone in particular, as according to him, “throughout our campaigns and rallies for the past one week, there was virtually no presence of the PDP in this zone.”

Al-makura while noting that among the reasons the PDP is clamouring for the postponement of the election was because the party foresees glaring defeat during the February election, stressed however that the APC will continue to campaign and host rallies where the party will unfold its programmes and what the people stand to get by voting for the party.

“If the APC gets elected, the country will embark on a total reformation, where virtually every facet including our values would be reformed and Nigeria will be a new country” Al-makura stated.

While addressing the mammoth crowd gathered at the palace of the emir of Keffi, venue of the rally, Al-makura urged supporters of the party to turn out en masse to participate in the coming presidential and national assembly election scheduled for February 14, as according to him, “this is the most significant election, because if we win this election, the rest will be easy for the APC.”
