The Governing Council of the Federal Medical Centre, Keffi in Nasarawa State has said that it has rolled out plans to create some outreach centres across the state to make tertiary healthcare services accessible to the rural communities in the state.
Chairman of the Governing Board of the Medical Centre, Prince Sule Iko disclosed plans to create outreach centres to newsmen yesterday in Lafia, the state capital.
According to him. “I am an advocate of the creation of several medical outreaches in the suburbs where people have difficulties in accessing healthcare services so that we transfer tertiary healthcare services to such centres,” he said.
“My immediate plan is to ensure that we have a successful transition for the next management to take over the hospital,” Iko said.
