The Administrator of Akun Development Area in Nasarawa Eggon Local Government Area of Nasarawa State, Dr. Ismaila Garba Adigizi, has described the outcome of the recent Nasarawa North Senatorial District by-election as a strong indication that the All Progressives Congress (APC) is well-positioned for victory in the 2027 general elections.

Speaking with journalists in Lafia, Dr. Adigizi said the victory of the APC candidate, Hon. Danladi Envulanza, in the by-election reflected the confidence of the electorate in the ruling party and demonstrated its growing strength across the senatorial district.

According to him, the overwhelming support received by the APC candidate from voters in Akwanga, Wamba and Nasarawa Eggon Local Government Areas serves as a litmus test for the party’s prospects in the 2027 elections.

He expressed confidence that the APC would retain political dominance in the state, from the State House of Assembly to the presidency, and urged residents to continue supporting the party.

Commenting on the performance of Governor Abdullahi Sule’s administration over the past seven and a half years, Adigizi praised the governor’s leadership, describing him as a development-driven, people-oriented leader committed to improving the welfare of citizens.

He said the administration had recorded significant achievements in infrastructure, education, healthcare and rural development, noting that many previously inaccessible communities had been connected through road projects, while several rural communities had also benefited from electrification and improved educational facilities.

“Nasarawa State has witnessed remarkable transformation in virtually every sector, particularly in infrastructure, education, healthcare and rural development.

Communities that were once inaccessible now have road networks, while many schools and villages have benefited from government interventions,” he said.

On Governor Sule’s reported ambition to contest the Nasarawa North Senatorial seat in 2027, Adigizi appealed to the people of the zone to support the governor, describing him as a tested and trusted leader capable of providing quality representation at the National Assembly.

He expressed optimism that the governor’s election to the Senate would attract greater development to Nasarawa North and the state as a whole.

Adigizi also called on youths across the state to embrace peace and unity, irrespective of ethnic or political differences.

He stressed that peaceful coexistence remained essential for sustainable development, warning that no meaningful progress could be achieved in an atmosphere of conflict.
