The leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the House of Representatives yesterday met with the Vice President, Namadi Sambo behind closed door at the Presidential Villa.

The PDP leaders of the House, who visited Sambo include the Deputy Speaker, Hon. Emeka Ihedioha, House Majority Leader, Mulikat Akande-Adeola, Chief Whip, Isiaka Bawa and the Deputy Leader, Leo Ogor.

Although the officials declined comments after the meeting which lasted over one hour, there are indications that they may have discussed the fracas which broke out in the National Assembly Complex yesterday when Speaker Aminu Waziri Tambuwal was prevented from accessing the Chamber for the business of the day.

It was also gathered that the leadership discussed the strategy to be employed to lobby members of the House to support the request made by President Goodluck Jonathan for the extension of the emergency rule in the three troubled North Eastern states of Adamawa, Borno and Yobe states.

While the Senate has yet to officially decide on whether to accept or reject the request, members of the House of Representatives resolved to reject the extension outright.
