NCAC reawakens hope on morality, dignity, sense of duty

The National Council for Arts and Culture (NCAC) has reawakened admirable attribute by bringing hope on morality, dignity, handwork, accountability, honour and other humane qualities to keep our cultural values in the society .
Director General NCAC Otunba Runsewe made the disclosure in his opening remarks during a cultural round table on social values , morality, culture and the Nigeria youth yesterday in Abuja . Runsewe stated that there is a need to open a new chapter of cultural conscious among the youths seeing what is happening around us .
He said “These values are acquired through the cultural traditions and transmitted from one generation to other”.
He said others have contributed in no small means to guaranteeing a peaceful, orderly and harmonious society”.
Speaking about high rate of immortality and moral decadence, he explained that what ever the reason may be, it can not be denied a that it possess a palpable threat to the peace, social cohesion, mutual trust and respect being core values on which the very fabrics of the our society was built.
He further maintained that I have no doubt that the forum provides a vertical platform to collectively direct our productive efforts towards using cultural values and norms in proffering more practical solutions in dealing with current national challenges of insecurity, property , moral decadence among others.
Also speaking,The chairman of the occasion the Senior Special Assistances to the president on women affairs and administration(office of the First Lady) Dr. Hajo Sani, said morality is what is taken our youth astray for this reason this conference is the key entry. “We looking forward where this same event will be taken down to the grassroots, schools and institutions.
We need to revival what we used to have in those day while growing up . We need to teach our youths the right messages and core values.
Declaring our the event opened while presenting a book titled “Morality, Culture and the Nigeria Youth”,Dr. Sani the First Lady is going to collaborate with the agency in order for our society to cherish our culture judicious.” We must do everything possible to transmit our cultural values to the youths .
“Our cultural values that use to binds us together as family has now been borrowed by foreign values in to our homes. Let’s bind our self back to our cultural heritages that hold it firmly, culture is our of life .
In her keynote address the managing director AIT,Dr. (Mrs) Tosin Dokpesi emphasised that we have to be a society that promote culture. There is a need for us to improve our character and core culture values in the society .
The media has role to teach the youth on how to cherished our culture and value and respects human life .
