The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) has launched its digital membership registration platform, calling on Nigerians to key into the party ahead of the 2027 general election.

Speaking at the official flag-off in Abuja on Monday, Senator Seriake Dickson, national leader of the party, described the NDC as a credible alternative platform for citizens seeking political change.

He said the party, barely two weeks old, had already attracted nationwide attention and voluntary support from young people, women, elders and politicians across several states.

“I thank Nigerians for the messages, the calls and the readiness to support this vision to salvage our country.

“Even in remote states, people are registering and offering support,”Dickson said.

The former governor of Bayelsa State noted that democracy belongs to the people and urged citizens to utilise the NDC platform to reclaim their mandate.

According to him, the party’s technical team designed a simplified and user-friendly registration portal to enable seamless digital sign-up, while manual forms would be distributed in rural communities for those unable to register online.

He directed state, local government and ward officials to immediately set up registration teams to support the process.

“Our teams will move into all wards across the country to assist Nigerians. This marks the formal commencement of digital registration as required by law,” he said.

Dickson also expressed confidence in the party’s national spread, insisting it was a pan-Nigerian democratic movement with experienced political operatives at all levels.

He hinted that the number of registered members would be disclosed after the party’s first National Executive Committee meeting, adding that the figures would “shock many.”

“The enthusiasm and inquiries across the country show Nigerians are angry with the status quo. They are also hungry for change, and the NDC is available as the tool to effect that change,” he added.
