The National Directorate of Employment (NDE), on Wednesday, commenced the registration of artisans across 16 local government areas of Taraba state.

Alhaji Danjuma Shehu, Taraba state coordinator of the directorate disclosed during a visit to Taraba shopping complex, home of electronics accessories and other artisans workshop that the idea was the directorate’s initiative to collect data of the unemployed artisans for onwards presentation to the federal government for necessary positive action.

According to Shehu, they have gotten the approval of the director general of the directorate to carryout the exercise, and call all artisans in the state to proceed to their respective local government for registration.

“This registration of artisans is a Nationwide exercise that is meant to collect data of unemployed artisans for federal government’s positive action. All artisans are to go to their various local government and register, stating their skills in the form.

“It is the NDE initiative to help the federal government get the data of unemployed artisans and encourage them with equipments that would improve their businesses and make the society greater”. The state coordinator disclosed.
