The National Directorate of Employment, NDE, has commenced the engagement of 93,731 unskilled and unemployed persons across Nigeria in
line with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
In Benue State, the agency said it commenced the engagement of 2,827 unskilled and unemployed persons on October 21, 2024.
According to NDE in a statement made available to Peoples Daily in Makurdi on Thursday,’under the Renewed Hope Employment Initiative, the Directorate will provide vocational, agricultural and entrepreneurial skills training with complementing transient job opportunities in the public works sector using over 30 different skill sets.
The statement read, “this job creation initiative of the NDE finds effective expression in six out of the eight priority areas of the Renewed Hope Agenda.
“Similarly, start-up capital, equipment and working tools will be provided for deserving participants at the end of the training while others will be linked to credit granting institutions to access loans to commence medium or large scale businesses. The exercise commenced on October 21, 2024 will last till the 31st December 2024.”
