National Directorate of Employment (NDE) in Niger state has commenced the training of 200 unemployed youths in cosmetology so as to be self employed and reliant.
The State Coordinator, Alhaji Abdulmalik Abubakar Liman made this known yesterday at the official commencement of the training in Abdulsalam Youth Center, Minna, saying that this is under Vocational Skills Development Programme of the agency.
He stated that “the time if waiting for white colour jobs is over globally because those jobs are not available hence the need for skills acquisition to be self employed and economically reliant”.
Liman explained that the training is for two weeks as the beneficiaries were to get stipends for their transportation and advised them not to disappoint the agency and families by ensuring the use of knowledge gained after their training.
He stressed that it is the mandate if NDE to create employment for self reliance in the country noting that little funds was required to start production of cosmetology goods and urged them to make judicious use of their knowledge to the benefit of their family and society.
