Former Super Eagles attacker, Daniel Amokachi has described Leicester City’s midfielder, Wilfred Ndidi as the future leader of the Super Eagles
While former captain John Obi Mikel fades away and Leon Balogun continues to battle with game time fitness in Italy, former Everton striker Amokachi says Ndidi has shown consistent leadership traits to take the baton.
“Ndidi is the guy with the most leadership attributes amongst the new generation Super Eagles,” Amokachi said to Brila.
“When you see the way he plays at Leicester, the way he points his fingers, the way he shouts at his teammates to act shows you he is a born leader, and this is my truth.
Amokachi who was on Tuesday named Nigeria’s Football Ambassador by President Mohammadu Buhai concluded by suggesting that Kenneth Omeruo has shown glimpses of headship though he needs to shake off a touch of nervousness around others.
“Kenneth Omeruo is another guy in the squad with the Leadership qualities, he is a bit shy but when you hand him the responsibility, he stands up to it,” Amokachi concluded.
