To combat insurgency and terrorism, the North-East Development Commission (NEDC), has organised a 3-day training workshop in Maiduguri for selected journalists and civil society organizations (CSOs) across the North-East.
The 3-day workshop held at Forshams even center, Maiduguri, Borno state capital.
The training theme: ‘Non-Kinetic Approaches to Ending Conflict for the Return of Sustainable Peace and Development’, is aimed at equipping the participants with skills to foster peace-building and promote development in the region.
The Managing Director of NEDC, Muhammad Alkali, stated that the training was part of the Commission’s Master Plan for North-East Stabilization and Development, and to addresses the root causes of conflict and enhance harmonious coexistence in the region.
Alkali called for stronger collaboration between the media houses and CSOs, for the Commission to sustain the rebuilding process.
