The Director General of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Air Vice Marshal Muhammadu A. Muhammed (rtd) has called for media collaborations to sensitize Nigerians on disaster related issues.
This was contained in a statement signed by Manzo Ezekiel NEMA Press Unit.
He said that Muhammed has since begun to put in modalities in place that will properly position the agency to achieve it goals .
According to him, he will efficiently deliver the agency mandates on disaster prevention, preparedness, mitigation and response in Nigeria.
The statement stated that, he has come with wealth of experience serving in various capacities in the Nigerian Air Force and public service, including as Chief of Policy and Plans at the Nigerian Airforce before his retirement.
It would be recalled that Air Vice-Marshal Muhammadu A. Muhammed (rtd) was appointed the Director-General of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) by President Muhammadu Buhari with effect from 30th April 2020.
The DG formally assumed duty on 5th May 2020, and his impact and experiences is already felt.
