NERG lauds military for growing peace in North-East

Delighted by the successes recorded by the military in the fight against insurgency in the region, the North-East Rehabilitation Group, NERG, commended the military for the growing peace in the region.

 

NERG Coordinator, Danladi Gombe in a statement issued on Saturday assured that the people will exercise their franchise in the forthcoming general elections.

 

It said the people of the North-East are ready to participate fully in choosing those that will run the affairs of the country for the next four years.

 

The statement noted that the current heat forcing the insurgents to surrendering in their numbers is commendable.

The coordinator called of parents to encourage their wards to distance themselves from any act of criminality.

 

While commending the Chief of Defence Staff, Gen LEO Irabor and his team, NERG said the feat recorded is leading to restoration of economic activities in the region.

 

“We are not just happy that economic activities is coming back to our region in full swing, we are glad that we will be able to participate fully in the forthcoming general elections without fear.

 

“This without doubt is attributable to ongoing military operations, that is successfully de-escalating the forces of darkness that before this time held on to our region.

“We are grateful to the Armed Forces of Nigeria under the leadership of Gen. LEO Irabor for the sacrifices been made to keep our region safe, habitable and creating opportunities for revival of economic activities.”

 

The statement further called on the people to massively participate in the electoral process, saying the military and other security’s agencies have given assurance to deal within person’s that will pose threat to the elections.
