The newly appointed Chairman of the Bauchi State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) Dr. Abubakar Surumbai Sheikh Dahiru has assumed duty with a pledge to provide quality education in Primary and Junior Secondary Schools in the State.
Dr Abubakar made the pledge when he received the mantle of leadership of the Board from the Permanent Secretary of the of the Board, Alhaji Abubakar Mansur.
He said “ it is worrisome for Bauchi, a state that produced the first Prime Minister of Nigeria to become a state with highest number of out of school children.
He said “we have put our hands an deck and we need the support of traditional rulers , community leaders and all stakeholders to raise the standard of education in the State.
Chairman said the board will engage all stake holders in education from the grassroots where each community will be encourage monitoring the attendance of their wards and children to School.
