The Executive Committee of Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), has mandated its secretariat to conclude all arrangement for a new contract with Chief Coach of the Super Eagles, Stephen Keshi next week.

The Executive Committee, which met yesterday in Abuja, said it received a written expression of interest from Keshi whose contract expired with Nigeria after the second round outing of the Eagles at the last FiFA World Cup in Brazil.

A communique of the meeting read:” Having received a written expression of interest from Mr. Stephen Keshi to continue as Head Coach of Senior national team, the Super Eagles, the Executive Committee mandated the Secretariat to reach out to Mr. Keshi to conclude the details of his contract and signing by next week, so that he can resume work ahead of the fast approaching 2015 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying series in September.”

The meeting also endorsed the approval given by the Acting President. Mike Umeh for payment of monies owed to late Assistant Coach of the U-20 Women national team, Mr. Chris Nwaehi.

The Executive Committee also congratulated the Minister/Chairman, National Sports Commission, NSC, Dr. Tammy Danagogo, for Nigeria’s brilliant outing at the recently concluded 20th Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Scotland where the country placed eight on the medal table with 11 gold.
