A Non-Governmental Organization (NGO), M-sfed Foundation International, in Gwagwalada Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) reiterated its resolve to fight poverty through empowerment programmes in the area.
Speaking at its official inauguration ceremony in Gwagwalada, the executive director of the foundation, Pastor Joseph Vambe, explained that the NGO began as a part of a church’s humanitarian services, adding there is a need to get other people involved to move the foundation forward.
He said that the foundation was established to enlighten the people of Gwagwalada and FCT at large on the methods on how to adopt proven methods to prevent erosion, floods as well as water drainage disaster.
While recounting the activities of the NGO, the director disclosed that his leadership had carried out some developmental projects, in Ibwa, Gwagwalada, Pegi and Dafa communities.
“We share rice and clothes to some less privileged ones and also we go out with the medical personnel to test people and give them drugs free of charge,” he said.
On his part, a representative of the First Bank of Nigeria, Mr. Mgbeze Linda, highlighted the various insurance packages that the privileged ones from the rural dwellers would benefit from the bank.
Also speaking, the chairman of Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) in charge of Gwagwalada Zone, Bishop Timothy, who represented the Aguma of Gwagwalada, Alhaji Muhammadu Magaji, prayed for the leadership of NGO to achieve its mission.
Earlier, the grand patron of the foundation, Amb James Ugah, said that the leadership of the NGO would do everything possible to actualize its dreams and visions.
Ugah urged the leadership of the foundation to carry the people along for the overall development of the foundation.
