Opposition All Progressive Congress (APC) in Niger State has described the recent out cry by Governor of Niger state, Dr Muazu Babangida Aliyu, that some of his aides had not offered him any advice in seven years as admitting that his government was busy squandering the state resources for political patronage.
This was contained in a press statement issued in Minna yesterday by the state APC Publicity Secretary, Jonathan Vatsa. The party stated “the revelation came to us as a very big shame; it is shameful if a Governor who claims to know it all can allow such Special Advisers to be paid from the state resources for 7 years knowing well that they are not discharging their duties.”
“It is more absurd that he knows that there were Special Advisers who were not doing their jobs for seven years and still appointing new ones to be paid from the lean resources of the state,” the APC added.
Vatsa said that the consolation for well meaning Nigerlites was that God, the omnipotent is gradually performing His Miracle for the state because the Governor have gradually admitted his failures publicly.
It stated that the PDP led government should, in a very responsible manner, sack Advisers who are not performing up to expectation.
We advise the Governor to spare Nigerlites, we are tired of this blind-fold games, let the Governor admit also that he can not work with any body’s advice since he always claim to know it all.
“A Leader who always take criticism as a taboo and liked to be praised as if he is the Alpha and the Omega can not take anybody’s advise. He will rather like boot lickers, merchants of eye service and rumour mongers around him.’
“We all know that times like this will come when the Governor will be running around like headless chicken; he has less than one year to quit government house for change. It is not a surprise that he has decided to shift the blames of his failures to his aides. The drama is
on; we are watching and will be happy to see his last theatrical.
