Niger State House of Assembly has assured the state Labour Union of impressing on the State Government to reverse all political appointments in to various ministries, department and agencies for the sanctity of the Civil Service.
The Speaker, Barrister Abdulmalik Sarkin Daji gave the assurance when the chairman of the labour union Idris Lafene led its members on a peaceful protest to the assembly complex in Minna.
Represented by the deputy speaker Afinike Dauda, the speaker noted that the leadership of the house will look into the matter and ensure that the right thing is been done.
Chairman of the labour union Idris Lafene who decried the action of the state government said that the recent political appointments into some government agencies were in disregard to the extant laws establishing them, hence he called for the reversal of such appointment.
Lafene said if the appointment and proposed bill are allow to scale through the Assembly even when their is irregularities and Illegalities it will create industrial disharmony and lack of trust between the political class and civil servant.
