Niger State House of Assembly has  passed into law a  bill for the establishment of the Niger State Rail-Line Corporation.

This development followed the presentation of the Joint Committees on Transport and Judiciary and Legal Matters’ report, chaired by member representing Edati constituency, Ahmed Muhammed.

Presenting the report, he said the bill seeks to provide an alternative and cheaper means of transporting goods and services.

He said the proposed corporation aligns with the New Niger Agenda of the present administration, aimed at  reducing the burden on roads.
