The Niger state Civil Service Commission (CSC) has reiterated its determination to continue to fish out ghost workers in the system and all kinds of financial scam as well corruption tendencies.
The Chairman of the Commission, Alhaji Shehu Galadima stated this in an interview with newsmen after receiving an award yesterday in Minna from the Centre for Ethics, Value and Self Orientation for 2017/18.
Galadima stressed the need for Nigerians especially the elites to change their attitudes towards corruption and its tendencies as well as to show high level of sincerity in discharging their responsibilities.
He stated that offenders should be allowed to face the wrath of the law rather than being protected by their communities hence will continue to track the inflows and outflows of civil servants in the state.
The CSC Chairman decried that self-centered attitudes was the major problem causing the persistent corruption in the country.
He solicited the support of all Nigerians to fight corruption, adding that they are syndicates but would be exposed and brought to book.
He confirmed that some civil servants are currently serving various prison terms in the state due to their involvement in corruption just as presently about 2,100 workers in the state could not find their file and will soon be declared ghost workers to open way for employment.
While appreciating the Centre for the recognition and award however, noted that the award will surely gingered him to do more and remained focused while he dedicated the award to his team for being supportive and cooperation to succeed.
Earlier in his remarks, the Executive Director of the Center, Prince Salle Musa Yakubu lamented the level of corruption in the country and declared to have over 1,500 whistle blowers across the country and are determined to expose criminals anywhere in Nigeria.
Prince Yakubu narrated evils associated with corruption and how it has impacted negatively on the Nigeria economy, politically and socially however warned that if we didn’t do anything now it will consumed the future generations.
He stated that the Centre only gives awards to men and women who have demonstrated ethical character and leadership in a quest to write the history of our fatherland.
He observed with dismay that 80% of awards in Nigeria today are in the hands of criminals who are costumers of EFCC and other Anti-Corruption agencies which he described as very unfortunate hence Galadima has exhibited character of emulation, high sense of civility and decorum and humility who was recommended after a thorough investigation were carried out on him.
He further announced that the centre will be training 1,000 staff comprising 10 MDAs with 100 per each with 70% cost implication from them however scored Niger CSC 75% hence the permanent Secretary, Alhaji Yusuf Barau Kagara received award on behalf of the Commission.
