About forty thousand residents in Paikoro and Lapai Local Government Areas of Niger State have been thrown into darkness sequel to the vandalisation of Power Distribution Company facilities in the affected communities.
Reports revealed that this is the third time that the incidents occurred within six months in the two local councils of the state.
It was reliably gathered that thirty three transformers in Lapai local government were vandalized while the feeder pillars supplying both local government areas in Paiko were also stolen by suspected criminals.
It was learnt that the power company staff in the two local government areas have been withdrawn, an indication that the company is not prepared to rescue the situation in the communities.
