Traditional rulers in the Niger Delta have expressed unwavering support for President Bola Tinubu’s administration and its initiatives aimed at promoting peace, security, and development in the region. They also lauded the appointment of Dr. Dennis Otuaro as the Administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP), deeming it well-deserved.
This was stated during a stakeholders’ meeting organized by the PAP Office, which gathered traditional leaders in Warri, Delta State, themed ‘Working Together for Sustainable Peace, Security, Stability, and Development in the Niger Delta’. The meeting emphasized the crucial role of traditional rulers in fostering peace and stability in the region.
HRM King Justice F. F. Tabai (Tuomo Kingdom), HRM King Peremobowei Erebulu (Kabowei Kingdom), HRM King Ogurimerime Ukori, CON (Agbon Kingdom), HRM King S.P. Luke (Akugebene-Mein Kingdom), and HRM King Joseph Timiyan (Ogulagha Kingdom) spoke as a unified body. They expressed optimism that the Niger Delta would significantly benefit from President Tinubu’s initiatives.
“We appreciate the President for appointing one of our own to such an important position. He should be assured of our full support. We are committed to doing everything necessary to help him succeed, particularly in executing his developmental plans for the Niger Delta, which will ultimately benefit our communities.”
The monarchs commended Otuaro’s leadership at the PAP, highlighting the positive impact of his educational and vocational initiatives on local beneficiaries. They encouraged him to continue creating opportunities and investing in education, praising his inclusive policies.
In his remarks, Otuaro acknowledged the traditional rulers’ vital role as stakeholders in the Niger Delta’s progress. He underscored the President’s commitment to completing the East-West Road and advancing the Coastal Road project.
