In a bid to implement the new National Policy on Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria, Niger State Microfinance Agency and German International Agency has engaged operators of small business to improve the business sector.
Director and Chief Strategic Officer and SMEDAN, Onesi Lawani Daberuje said it will facilitate and sustained a vibrant MSME sector that will be a major driver of national economic development and growth.
He made this known while presenting a paper on the stakeholders dialogue on the implementation of the national micro, small and medium enterprises policy in Minna, Niger state.
Chairperson of the state Entrepreneurship Development Organization Forum, Dr Carolina Aleenoghera who explained that there passion as to ensure MSMEs survived and grow as well ensure women and youth are not marginalized.
State Head of Service, Hajiya Salamatu Abubakar stated that the state government is making efforts in reducing the widen gap in the percentage of workforce and labour market through training and skills acquisition programmes.
The SOMEDAN representative and Emir of Agaie, Alhaji Yusuf Nuhu applauded the GIZ for creating an enabling atmosphere for businesses to strive while urging the youth to embrace self reliant opportunity made available to them hence white collar jobs not available.
