Niger govt releases Aisha, 24 others involved in hunger protest in Minna

Niger State Government has directed the immediate release of Aisha Jibrin, the initiator of the hunger protest over hike in prices of foodstuffs and 24 others involved.
The Commissioner for Information and Culture, Hajiya Binta Manmman made this known while speaking to Journalists in Minna.
She said the state government after conducting its findings had exonerated the 57 year old Aisha Jubrin, the mastermind of the protest of any wrong doing.
According to her, “ All of those arrested by the police along with the initiator, Aisha Jibrin have been released on bail. We apologize to the family of Aisha and others for the arrest”.
She decried that the State Government is concerned about the sufferings of residents of the State, adding that the Governor Mohammed Umar Bago led administration is not resting on its oars, as drastic measures would soon be adopted in addressing their plights.
