The Niger State chapter of Inter – Party Advisory Committee (IPAC) has resolved to strengthen all its offices in the 25 local government areas
ahead of parties’ primaries in the state.
The resolution was reached at its General Assembly meeting held in Minna.
IPAC also resolved to collaborate with local government electoral officers in sensitizing the general public on the need to take advantage of the continuous voters exercise which is expected to end soon.
IPAC’s Niger state Publicity Secretary, Malam Usaman Shehu, stated that the meeting also agreed to ensure harmony and understanding among the various
political parties that existed in all the local government areas in the state with the purpose of deepening democracy and ensuring participation by all.
Shehu said it also resolved to expand all IPAC’s standing committees to accommodate all the newly registered political parties to ensure harmony and other standing among all.
He said the meeting commended the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for the timely release of the full election timetable, adding that the release would give a clear direction on the election.
According to him, the meeting resolved to collaborate with the commission in ensuring strict adherence to the timetable by all stakeholders to build the ground for the success of the polls, even as it called on INEC and
political parties to adhere strictly to the timetable as a way to avoid problems during the 2019 elections.
