The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Niger State Command has arrested one Nura Yerima for purportedly circulating false allegations on social media against its personnel, SC Idris Saidu.
This was contained in a statement issued by the command’s Public Relations Officer (PRO), Rabiu Multi, said the suspect allegedly claimed involvement in supplying rifles to bandits, which a High Court of Justice, Niger State of Nigeria, had earlier exonerated the officer.
It stated: “The command apprehended the suspect and reaffirmed its commitment to protecting the Corps’ integrity, urging the public to disregard the false information and verify information, hence spreading false information undermines national security in which offenders are to face legal consequences.
“Similarly, the Operation Flush Patrol Team has recorded another success, however arrested three suspects for phone snatching at Land Mark Bakery, Tunga area, Minna. Exhibits recovered include: Cutlass and other harmful weapons.”
According to the State Commandant, NSCDC Niger State command, Commandant Adamu Abubakar Kambra, the suspects are currently in custody, facing investigation and subsequent prosecution.
