Niger sate Commander of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Emmanuel Ojeniyi, has cautioned the hoodlums vandalizing pipelines in the state to stop such criminal behaviours and relocate from the state to avoid the wrath of the law.

Ojeniyi made the statement yesterday, in an interview with journalists in Minna. He said his men have been adequately mobilised to patrol flash points with a view to arresting and clearing the state of vandals.

“We have detailed some officers to comb areas where pipelines are located and also meet with traditional rulers in such places for their maximum support in the efforts to eradicate vandalism in the state. The Emirs and other royal fathers in the state have given us their words to work with us in flushing out vandals hibernating in villages with petroleum products pipelines”, he said.

He assured that NSCDC will continue to work assiduously towards providing security to the people, adding that the organisation will also continue to work in synergy with other security outfits so that “people can sleep with all eyes closed in the state”.

The commandant noted that undercover operatives were being deployed to motor parks in the state while members of the NURTW and other stakeholders in the transport industries were being sensitized on the need to be vigilant in fishing out suspicious persons in the parks.
