Niger state Judiciary Commission headed by the Chief Judge of Niger state, Hon. Justice Fati Lami Abubakar has dismissed two sharia court judges for incompetence in the discharge of their judicial functions in the state.
The commission secretary, Mrs Z T Gana disclosed this in a statement yesterday.
According to the statement the two judges were Hon. Mohammed Isah Doko of sharia court Kateregi and Hon. Aminu Balarabe of the sharia court Zungeru respectively.
The statement said why Mohammed Doko was dismissed following the findings by the commission on the allegations contained in the petition against him that he ordered for execution of judgment the very day the judgment was delivered on the 7th April, 2014 and he did not apply Islamic rules of procedure to arrive at the decision as well evidence of corrupt tendencies as he made certain deductions from the proceeds of the auction in respect of the judgment.
Also, Aminu Balarabe of sharia court Zungeru was dismissed from office sequel to findings on allegation of unlawful seizure and wrongful exercise of judicial power.
