The Ondo State Governor, Akeredolu Oluwarotimi Odunayo has asked the National Assembly Special Committee on Constitution Review to take full actions on the yearning of the people and save Nigeria which he said is at a “critical stage” from falling.
Akeredolu who disclosed this while receiving the House of Representatives Committee on the Constitution Review led by the Deputy Majority Leader, Hon. Peter Akpatason in Akure on Monday, said the yearning of the people must not be neglected
The Governor who was represented by the his Deputy, Hon. Lucy Aiyedafiwa added that the National Assembly must not fail the Nigerian’s People while carrying out the assignment
He said “The assignment you are here for is very serious and it is of great change for our society, National Assembly must focus on this assignment with all seriousness. The yearning of the People must be put into consideration with immediate actions.
“Nigeria is at a critical stage and the Review of the Constitution with the Changes will turn the situation around for the better. we don’t want to go back to the passed where we faced war
The Governor while promising the state government support towards a successful outing for the change the country need, said the people of South West are willing and waiting to present their yearning to the Committee
Hon. Akpatason earlier disclosed that, the Committee lead by him was delegated by House of Representatives to conduct the the exercise by afford the people of the Zone opportunity to contribute and make their desires know to the National Assembly.
“We are here this evening as delegation from National Assembly with the responsible of conducting exercise that will afford the people of the zone the opportunity to contribute and made their desires known
The Deputy Majority Leader disclosed that, the yearning of the people will the major focus of the group.
“We are here to gather infromation from the people, which will lead us to a final report that will be presented, we must take every input of the people and their Yearning.
He Promised that the Committee will do a good job that will represent the interest of the people across the zone, even as he thank the governor for hosting the team.
