Nigeria Customs suffer another defeat to Rwand’s APR in Kigali

It was another painful outing for Nigeria Customs Service Volleyball Club as they suffered yet another defeat at the CAVB Men’s Club Championship in Kigali, falling 2-3 to Rwanda’s APR Volleyball Club in a gripping five-set encounter.
Inside the buzzing BK Arena, Customs appeared on course for a crucial win after taking a 2-1 lead, but APR mounted a stunning comeback to snatch victory.
The Rwandan side edged the opening set 25-21 before Customs responded strongly, claiming the next two sets 25-21, 25-21.
However, a tense fourth set swung 26-24 in APR’s favour, forcing a decider where the hosts dominated 25-9 to seal the win.
The result marks another setback for the Nigerian side, who have struggled for consistency in the competition.
Elsewhere on Day 5, Port Autonome de Douala brushed aside Kalibi Sporting Club in straight sets (25-13, 25-15, 25-14), while Nemo Stars Volleyball Club proved too strong for Black Rhinos Volleyball Club, winning 3-0.
In other results, Kenya Ports Authority Volleyball Club defeated Prisons Volleyball Club 3-0, and Rwanda Energy Group Volleyball Club eased past Atletico Clube do Mindelo with another straight-sets victory.
Egyptian giants Al Ahly Sporting Club maintained their dominance with a 3-0 win over Kepler Volleyball Club, while FUS Rabat Volleyball saw off Wolaitta Dicha Sports Club 3-0.
Police Volleyball Club Rwanda defeated Ghana Army Volleyball Club in straight sets, and Petrojet Sporting Club overpowered Litto Team Volleyball 3-0.
In the final match of the day, Equity Bank Volleyball Club claimed a 3-1 victory over Cameroon Sports Volleyball.
As the battle intensifies in Kigali, the pressure continues to mount on Nigeria Customs, who must quickly regroup to keep their campaign alive after another disappointing defeat.
