The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has announced the suspension of the services of Online Integrated Solution (OIS Services), the operator of Nigeria’s Visa Application Centers in the United States, with effect from July 1, 2026.

The announcement was made in a statement issued on Thursday by the Service Public Relations Officer, Deputy Comptroller of Immigration (DCI) Akinsola Akinlabi.

According to the NIS, the suspension will remain in effect until further notice and affects prospective travellers and Nigerians residing in the United States who require visas to enter Nigeria.

Following the suspension, the Service directed all visa applicants in the United States to submit their applications directly at the Embassy of Nigeria in Washington, D.C., or at the Consulates General of Nigeria in New York and Atlanta.

The NIS clarified that the directive applies only to physical visa application submissions at the Nigerian diplomatic missions in the United States and does not affect the country’s electronic visa (e-Visa) platform.

Applicants wishing to obtain an e-Visa can continue to submit their applications through the official Nigeria Immigration Service e-Visa portal.

The Service assured the public that adequate measures have been put in place to ensure the seamless submission, processing, and issuance of visas despite the suspension of OIS Services.

It advised applicants to regularly monitor the official communication channels of the Nigeria Immigration Service and the Nigerian Mission in the United States for updates on visa application procedures.
