The First Lady of Zamfara State, Huriyya Dauda Lawal, has congratulated Nigerians at home and in the diaspora on the country’s 66th Independence Anniversary, while also celebrating with the people of Zamfara on the 30th anniversary of the state’s creation.

In a statement issued by her Chief Press Secretary, Comrade Rabi Yusuf, Huriyya described the twin anniversaries as significant milestones that call for gratitude, reflection and renewed commitment to building a peaceful, prosperous and united society.

She urged Nigerians, particularly residents of Zamfara State, to continue playing their individual and collective roles in nation-building, stressing that the progress of any society depends on the contributions, sacrifices and shared responsibilities of its citizens.

According to her, Nigeria’s journey since independence has been marked by challenges and resilience, adding that the anniversary provides an opportunity for citizens to renew their faith in the country and remain committed to its growth and development.

The First Lady also congratulated the people of Zamfara on 30 years of statehood, describing the milestone as an opportunity to reflect on the state’s journey and look to the future with renewed hope.

She highlighted what she described as progress recorded under the administration of Governor Dauda Lawal in education, healthcare, infrastructure, human capital development and social welfare.

“What we are seeing today is only the beginning. There is still much more to be done. With sustained commitment, responsible governance and the continued support and prayers of our people, Zamfara will achieve even greater milestones in the years ahead,” she said.

The First Lady also called for continued peace, unity and mutual understanding among the people of Zamfara, stressing that meaningful development could only thrive in an atmosphere of security and collective responsibility.
