From Mustapha Adamu, Kano
Emir of Kano, Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero has said the present economic situation in the country is inflicting untold hardship on Nigerians.
The emir regretted that people are facing untold hardship because of the high cost of commodities.
The emir insisted that the government should do everything possible to control inflation as it is inflicting hardship to common Nigerians.
Bayero, who raised the concern while receiving president Muhammad Buhari, who was on homage to the palace, said Nigerians need a better life than what they are living in presently.
He therefore called on President Buhari to intensify more efforts in tackling the issues of insecurity and the economy.
The monarch appealed to Nigerians to support and pray for the success of President Buhari’s administration.
He also expressed delight over the way the Federal Government is executing people-oriented projects, particularly in Kano state.
While assuring Buhari of the emirate’s continued prayers for his administration, the royal father applauded the president for finding Kano worthy of citing Federal government critical infrastructure.
Speaking earlier, President Buhari who spoke in Hausa stated that, “I am delighted over how Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje is developing Kano state. I am also happy about his continuity policy. I have seen a number of projects of previous administrations which he has completed.
“I urge other state Governors to emulate the continuity policy of Governor Ganduje. I am very happy for the warm reception I received in Kano.”
