The Kaduna Sector Commander of Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Mr. Michael Olagunju has said Nigerians lack safety culture and consciousness and that is the major reason for various accidents on the road. He disclosed this while receiving rescue materials donated by the 2013/2014 NYSC Road Safety Corp to the Command, in Kaduna recently.
Mr. Olagunju said it is because Nigerians are not safety-conscious that they will allow themselves to be jam-packed into a vehicle or watch while the driver is over-speeding and not call him to order.
Making the presentation, the president of the NYSC/FRSC 2013/2014 Club, Comrade Mohammed Jalige said the rescue materials is their widow’s might to the Kaduna Command, in order to assist accident victims.
The representative of Kaduna State Director of the NYSC, Mrs. Faith Okoli said the presentation is as a result of the culture built in the Corp members to ensure that they leave a legacy during their service year.
