NIPOST to be commercialised -BOT chair

The Chairman of Board of Trustees of Nigeria Postal Services NPOST Barrister Hadiza Yaya Abubakar has disclosed that the Agency is to be commercialised to make it competitive and profitable.
She stated this during a walking tour to the Kaduna zonal office yesterday.
According to her, the services can no longer depend on government funding rather introduce other avenues to generate income.
Barrister Yaya expressed dismay over the dilapidated state of some structures belonging to the services.
She promised that the new Board will do all within its power to make sure that there is massive rehabilitation of structures.
Speaking on the welfare of staff of the services, she said plans are in the pipe line for robust take home packages for all staff.
She commended the management and staff of the zonal office for keeping the office tidy.
She, however, tasked the staff to redouble their productive and become ICT compliance.
Speaking earlier, the Kaduna Zonal Director Steven Thaima Mbaya said the Kaduna zonal office has been discharging its duty amidst all obstacles.
He called on the Board to help recover the property of the services at Dan Maja which has been taking over by the Nigeria Police.
