As part of effort to deliver its mandate, the Nigeria Immigration Service Jigawa state command arrested eight victims of human trafficking in the state.

Speaking to journalists while parading the victims, the state comptroller of NIS Ahmad Dauda Bagari said, the victims were rescued by his personnel along Kaya-Daura area of Roni local government on Sunday evening.

“The victims made up of five males and three females hail from four different states of Abia, Edo, Imo and Ogun with age ratio of 19 to 45 years old”.

The Comptroller said only one of the victims is in possession of expired Nigerian standard passport.

He listed them to include; Nosa Isaac from Edo state, Emanuel Ogur from Imo state and Abdulwasiu Oladokun from Ogun state.

Others are; Blessing John and Success Jacob from Abia state, Etiosa Henry Osagie Francis and Faith Moses from Edo state.

According to him, most of the victims were without agent as all transactions were made through phones within the syndicate.
