NKADA warns riverine communities on impending flood

National Kakanda Development Association (NKADA) has advised riverine communities in Lapai local government of Niger state to be alert of the impending flood as predicted by the NiMet.

The president of the association, Alhaji Ismaila Abdullahi gave the advise during its executive meeting held at his residence in Shango, Minna.

He noted that the NiMet and other relevant authorities like NEMA, NIWA and Governments has predicted and commenced enlightenment of the public on this year anticipated flooding and its consequences.

This was contained in a statement issued by the NKADA Assistant Secretary, Alhaji Yakubu Mustapha Bina.

It said that over thirty three communities are affected by flood annually in the area.

Alhaji Ismaila Abdullahi, however urged those in the affected areas to start moving to the up land so as to avert the negative impact occasioned by the annual flooding in the local government.
