The Nigerian Labour Congress NLC, in collaboration with Trade Union Congress TUC and Joint Public Service negotiating council has called on Governor Isa Yuguda of Bauchi State to pay workers their December Salary in the best interest of workers towards the development of the State.
The three chairmen of the Unions, Comrade Hashimu Gital, Comrade Mohammed Usman and Comrade Aliyu Mohammed made the call in a joint Press conference at the week end in Bauchi.
The NLC chairman said as a result of dwindling of resources workers suffered due to delay in the payment of salaries.
Usman said from February last year government paid February salary in March, the situation continued up till today, in December we collected November remaining December.
While Comrade Aliyu said ” even though government and the union were discussing on the best way to settle the one month salary reminded the government that it’s good to pay the salary in order to ease the hardship faced by the workers in the state , because it’s good to pay a worker before his sweat got dry”
All effort to get the reaction of the state head of service, Mr Abdon Dala Gin failed
Meanwhile the information officer of the head of service, Umar Sa’I’d said the state head of service have traveled out of the state.
