By Usman Shuaibu

The newly inaugurated Executive Chairman of Kwali Area Council, Hon. Nuhu Daniel, has called on local lawmakers and civil servants to foster a culture of close cooperation to drive infrastructure and socioeconomic development across the council.
Speaking during the swearing-in ceremony of the newly elected Kwali councillors recently, Hon. Daniel specifically charged the local government workforce to align with his administration’s policies, promising an inclusive governance style that leaves no community behind.
Underscoring his administration’s stance on accountability, the Chairman explicitly warned that his tenure would not tolerate fiscal indiscipline, referencing strict oversight directives from the Federal Capital Territory leadership.
“It is not going to be business as usual. We will manage our resources prudently and maintain absolute transparency.
“The Honourable Minister of the FCT has made it clear to us: if we fail to manage our public resources responsibly, the EFCC and ICPC will come after us,” he stated.
The Chairman reassured Kwali residents that his immediate priority is delivering the tangible dividends of democracy to the grassroots.
He pledged to systematically address the long-standing infrastructural and social challenges confronting the area council.
While appealing to women and youth groups for their sustained support, Hon. Daniel added that his administration welcomes constructive criticism aimed at structural growth, asserting that he stands firmly for the collective interest of Kwali.
He also commended previous chairmen of the area council, acknowledging that past leaders had each contributed their quota to the development of the locality in their own right.
