The Northern States Governors Forum (NSGF) has expressed shock and sadness at the reported killing of 59 persons in a fresh crisis between Eggon and Gwandara ethnic groups in Nasarawa state, urging the warring groups to immediately stop further attacks.

Chairman of the forum and Governor of Niger state, Dr Mu’azu Babangida Aliyu expressed the forum’s deepest condolences to the families of the victims and urged law enforcement agents to find pro-active ways of forestalling further occurrence.

In a statement signed by Governor Aliyu’s spokesman, Danladi Ndayebo, the forum called on security agencies to ensure that the perpetrators are caught and brought to justice, to prevent a re-occurrence, stressing that a situation where people are killed at will was unacceptable.
