The National Primary Health Care Development Agency (NPHCDA) and its partners on Routine Immunization have given assurance that there would be no compromise on transparency, due process and merit as the overriding criteria for engagement of consultants to improve routine immunization in 18 low performing states in the Country.
A statement issued by it Press Secretary, Saadu Salahu, said the Executive Director of the Agency, Dr. Faisal Shuaib disclosed this in Abuja while addressing members of the multi-agency panel overseeing the recruitment of candidates for the exercise.
Dr. Faisal revealed that although over two thousand persons applied for the job, about 100 of them sat for the Competency Based Test (CBT) while only 57 were shortlisted for the final oral interview.
Dr. Faisal explained that as parts of efforts to guarantee transparency and due process, development partners on Routine Immunization such as WHO, UNICEF, CHAI, EU-SIGN, US Centre for Disease Control, and Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation actively participated in the process leading to the final selection of the successful candidates, stressing there was no room for nepotism.
