NSCDC FCT boss trains personnel on basic administrative practice

In furtherance of his resolve to enhance efficiency and professionalism in service delivery among his personnel, the Commandant, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Olusola Odumosu, PhD, has concluded a (2) day training on “Basic Administrative Practice” for his Area D personnel in Abuja.

The training which held at the Public Service Institute, Abuja, drew participants, mostly Divisional officers and other senior officers from the Divisions under Bwari Area Command to upscale their knowledge and skills in administrative practice.

Declaring it closed, the FCT Commandant, Olusola Odumosu, PhD, explained that, the training is vital for creating a skilled, efficient, and more motivated workforce that can support the Command’s goals for increased productivity and shorter turnaround times on tasks.

“You cannot give what you don’t have, and you are as good as what you know; hence this training to equip you with the skills necessary to perform your duties effectively.

“Note that you must strive to become the best version of yourselves by imbibing the knowledge acquired during the training and putting them into good use.

“You also have to be consistent in developing and evaluating yourself to understand the potentials within and the skill needed for professional growth, career advancement and increased productivity within the Command.

“Therefore, embrace the training not just as a routine exercise but as a critical opportunity to recalibrate yourself, learn effective communication skills with your colleagues and citizens for better collaborations, information exchange and effective service delivery to the people we are meant to serve.

“Protection of Critical National Assets and Infrastructure, preservation of lives, peace and order in the FCT is our mandate and i need you to be good ambassadors by being on top of your game to be able to handle these various tasks effectively as they arise”, he advised.

Speaking on behalf of the participants, the Area D Commander, ACC Ene Yakubu, thanked the Commandant for organising the training for personnel in the Area Command as the impact is undeniably felt in the knowledge and new orientation acquired which they would apply in serving the people at the grassroot better.

She promised that, officers and men in the Area Command will continue to maintain utmost professionalism in any given tasks while at the same time exhibiting good conducts especially now that they have become more aware of the gaps and the legal implications of certain actions that do not conform with the Corps standards.
