The Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Service Corps (NSCDC), Federation Capital Territory (FCT), Commandant, Olusola Odumosu, has decried the get-rich-quick Syndrome, Cybercrimes and examination malpractices prevalent amongst Nigerian youths.

A statement issued on Wednesday by DSC Monica Ojobi,

Odumosu, stated this when he granted

audience to a delegate from the National Association of Northern Nigerian Students (NANNS) in his office at Wuse Zone 5, Abuja.

It said the FCT Commandant,  who was honoured with a meritorious Award of Excellence as icon of selfless distinction by NANNS, noted that these vices prevalent  amongst Nigerian youths is a critical challenge facing the youths of today.

He expressed deep appreciation to the  NANNS leadership for the honour bestowed upon him, describing the award as humbling and motivating, noting that it reflects the collective efforts of his entire management team and the officers and men of the Corps.

” I am truly grateful to the leadership of NANNS for this gesture. This recognition is not mine alone, I dedicate it to my management team and personnel whose relentless support is undeniable”, he stated.

The FCT boss further commended NANNS leadership for their selfless commitment to make a difference through its proactive approach in nation – building, particularly their efforts in organising symposia and seminars aimed at sensitising students against social vices.

He reaffirmed  commitment to his continued service to the nation with dedication, and also collaborate with the association to ensure that negative activities of youths especially students if not completely obliterated will be brought to its bearest minimum in the FCT.

” This recognition further underscores the importance of synergy between security institutions and student bodies in addressing societal challenges in nurturing future leaders”.

Speaking, the leader of the delegation from NANNS, Comrade Ibrahim Isah Adamu, said the award was in recognition of Commandant Odumosu’s outstanding leadership, dedication to national service as well as his unwavering commitment to youth development.
