NSCDC nabs 5 suspected illegal miners in Niger community

Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Niger State command says it arrested 5 suspected illegal miners with a quantity of monoxide product, 9 motorcycles and other implements in the state
The State Commanrdant, Suberu Siyaka Aniviye made this known while parading the suspects and their exhibits at the state headquarters of the command in Minna, said the suspects were arrested at the scene of the on activity.
He stated that the NSCDC on intelligence around 24:00 hours the team of the mining Marshals apprehended the suspects mining monoxide solid mineral worth millions of naira at Zuzungi around Kataeregi area in Katcha local and area of Niger state.
According to him, a segment of the people sabotaging the national economy of mining monoxide solid minerals is unacceptable and commended the team’s for their resilience, commitment, exceptional vigilance and exhibiting of professionalism during the encounter
He assured to remain committed to ensuring law and order and protecting the State’s resources from the illegal exploitation, noted that investigation is ongoing and further updates will be provided to the public accordingly.
Commandant Suberu Siyaka Aniviye urged the politicians, traditional rulers and we to do individuals to enlightened their communities on the need to avoid illegal dealings.
The commandant also vowed to sustain the tempo of making Niger state difficult zone for illegal mining, vandalism and other social vices, assuring to work in conjunction with other security operatives to enhance a crime free state
He reiterated the determination of the command to protecting the State’s assets and infrastructure, while he praised the Commandant General Ahmed Abubakar Audi and Niger state governor Mohammed Umar Bago for their unwavering support in ensuring peace and stability of the state.
