NUC visits first private varsity in Jigawa

As part of accreditation process, a delegation from National Universities Commission (NUC) has visited the first proposed private university in Jigawa State (Khadija University Majiya).
Speaking during the visit, the NUC Acting Director Establishment of Private Universities, Professor Aminu Abba said, this is the second time the commission visited the University.
He explained that, the proposed Khadija University passed nine stages out of twelve stages required by the NUC from any private university before its establishment.
According to him, the aim of his team visit to the university, is to go round and supervised the structures set-up in the school before the approval to go ahead for next step.
While making his remarks, the chairman planning and Implementation Committee of the proposed KUM, professor Sagir Adamu Abba commended the team for their visit to the University at an appropriate time despite the huge task before them at various proposed universities across the country.
He then lauded the founder of the University Alhaji Adam Musa Majiya whom he described as patriotic and selfless hard-working person to the teeming populace of Jigawa state.
Also speaking at the gathering, the Jigawa state governor Alhaji Muhammad Abubakar Badaru who was represented by Commissioner women affairs Hajiya Yelwa Da’u said, the state government would do all it best to support the University and ensure its functionality for the benefit of the people in the state.
