Chief Mike Oghiadomen, former Chief of Staff to former President of Nigeria, Goodluck Jonathan has hit back at the critics of Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State, declaring that unintelligent people were not offered admission to study Classics in the University of Ibadan.
Oghiadomen who is a former deputy Governor of Edo State disclosed this when the State PDP Governorship Campaign berthed at Fugar in Etsako Central Local Government Area of the State ahead of the September 19, 2020 Governorship election in the State.
His comment comes months after Mr Jonathan Ayuba-led All Progressives Congress (APC) screening Committee for Edo State Governorship election, disqualified the Mr Godwin Obaseki from seeking re-election on the platform of the party in June 2020 before he resigned his membership from the party and declared for PDP.
Oghiadomen said, “Obaseki and I graduated from the University of Ibadan almost at the same time. Obaseki read Classics, and anybody with half-baked knowledge cannot study Classics in UI; That is why when they toss him here, they will jam rock and when they toss him there, they will jam rock.
“…That is Obaseki is the way”, he said.
The former presidential aide, maintained that he and the incumbent Governor of Edo State graduated almost the same time from UI several years ago.
Responding, the PDP Candidate in the September 19, 2020 Governorship poll, Governor Godwin Obaseki, said he will construct the Nazareth hospital road in Etsako Central to Weppa-Wano where the federal Railway station is located in Etsako East Local Government Area of the State.
Obaseki also promised to establish a tertiary institution within the next four years if he is returned elected.
He also expressed shock at the high turn-out of PDP and supporters, adding that the forthcoming “election is about you (the people) at the rally”.
According to Oghiadomen and the late Admiral Mike Akhigbe who served as de facto Vice President of Nigeria (as Chief of General Staff) under military head of state General Abdulsalami Abubakar, have laid the foundation for development in Fugar.
